about the founder
Sam Johnson is an award-winning writer, producer, and attorney. He is the former Vice President of the Harvard Lampoon, earned the Jack Oakie Screenwriting Scholarship at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts producing MFA, and won the Law Faculty Scholarship and Alumni Association Scholarship at Temple Law. He has written for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim (“The Drinky Crow Show”), written a cartoon pilot for “Muscles McQuack,” and produced a no-budget horror that sold for VOD distribution. He has also sold four made-for-TV movies and a pilot. Sam recently published a piece in the Washington Journal of Law, Technology & Arts on fiscal sponsorship and independent film finance, based on research he conducted at Temple.
SMJ Media LLC is currently focused on producing the fiscally sponsored indie period drama Given, but Sam is also available for individualize script consulting and film school admissions consulting.
